He’s growing up! Belgian Tervuren Gaetz is now three months old; this is his fourth lesson overall and his first on heeling. Gaetz and mom are doing a really nice job.
This lesson introduced heeling (handler generated interest), recall from distraction and continued work on the platform. Soon we’ll add a dumbbell retrieve.
Take particular note of the recall portion; Gaetz’s good choice to come away from distractions.
In my next blog post, I hope to compare and contrast the foundation skills that each puppy has worked on. (Kismet, Gaetz, and Ziva). Each lesson/video has focused on something slightly different; yet all of the puppies will learn all of the foundation skills over time.

Thanks so much for posting. Your techniques remind me a lot of what I am seeing on Susan Garrett’s puppy peaks program. Since Susan primarily trains for obedience it is so nice to see someone applying the shaping techniques for obedience.
OOps that was suppose to say Susan primiarly trains for agility
